Festive Holiday Traditions!!
We all know that time of the year, school is coming to a close, the holidays are here. Here are just some, of the many classical holiday traditions that are celebrated during the festive season!
During Christmas time, matching pajamas with the family and some fun celebratory traditions are decorating the tree, looking back at every Ornament that holds a different memory at heart! Baking Christmas cookies for everyone to enjoy, building gingerbread houses with icing and gumdrops and smiles from ear to ear. Even singing Christmas carols, going from house to house spreading Christmas cheer!
When Hanukkah comes, the Hanukkah traditions include lighting the Menorah for each of the eight nights of the lighting! Singing wonderful Hanukkah songs joyful and content! Playing the game of the dreidel with family, and eating oil based foods such as Latkes (potato pancakes which are then fried in oil) and Sufganiyot (a round jelly doughnut which is injected with jam or custard and topped with powdered sugar).
When one year comes to an end, a new year begins. To embrace the year to come, the holiday New Year’s is celebrated. Some celebratory traditions may include eating 12 grapes. Each of the Twelve grapes welcomes luck for each month of the coming year. Another tradition to welcome in the new year is watching the annual ball drop. One located in New York is the Times Square Ball, which annually, welcomes thousands of people to celebrate and embrace the new year!
