This club spotlight highlights our Carey Seahawk Mock Trial Club’s first competition of 2025! As Carey’s Mock Trial Team attended their first mock trial event this year on February 5th. H. Frank Carey’s Mock Trial Team competed against Southside High School’s Mock Trial Team, as they attended the Nassau County Supreme Court. Both teams did an amazing job! Speaking on the behalf of the plaintiff, our mock trial successfully emphasized the case in a way that they were able to get their point across. The members of the Mock Trial have gone above and beyond to prepare for this competition. They are dedicated to show up to every meeting, to collaborate and prepare for the competition. Big thanks goes out to Ms Carey Hill, Martha Bodhnarain and William Schliefer for helping the team come 1 step closer to being the best they can be. The mock trial team truly gave it their all and it was amazing to see all the hard work come to life. The attorneys for our first competition were Jane Huang, Micheal Zheng, and Meerab Chaudry. Our witnesses for our first competition were Caterina Spagnolo, Joveria Hasnat, and Kaitlyn Conway, and as our timekeeper, Madison Ramnarine. The mock trial case was “Dr Leyton Manns vs Sandy Townes”. Everyone did an incredible job and it was very impressive to see the Mock Trial’s performance. As a member of the Mock Trial myself, this truly was a never to forget experience of joy and pleasure and was an opportunity that will be cherished for a lifetime.
