On Friday, February 14th, H. Frank Carey High School hosted the annual P.S. I Love You Day suicide prevention event! This was a wonderful day to end the week with the annual bake sale selling out in record timing (by second period)! The school was flooded with purple shirts and beaded necklaces, and a beautiful backdrop was set up by the entrance for students and teachers to take photos throughout the day. Videos showing a compilation of messages from students and teachers in the Carey Community were also shown in each social studies class. A table by the auditorium was available for the day so that students could make friendship bracelets to share with others! This year, the purple sweatshirts were also extra special, and caused a sea of purple throughout the school. The design featured a quote stating, “To the person behind me, just know this: You are strong, you are capable, and you are more than enough.”
This year’s P.S. I Love You Day was a huge success, and we saw the Carey community join together under the 2025 theme, “A brighter tomorrow begins today.” Thank you for reading, and we look forward to a great P.S. I Love You Day next year!
