
It’s Saturday, September 19th. The weather is getting cooler, the leaves are starting to change color, and that can only mean one thing: football is starting, and the Carey Seahawks start their season hosting the Valley Stream South Falcons for their homecoming game. Prior to the game, Carey had their annual homecoming festivities, like the parade and the homecoming court ceremony. Last year, Carey went undefeated and won the Long Island Football Championship, and the Seahawks were looking to repeat that success at Marc Mantone Field.

To begin the game, the Falcons would receive the ball off of a kick from Seahawks kicker Will Cooper, which would only get them up to the 20 yard line. The Falcons would start their drive in the air with a 6 yard reception, making it 2nd and 4. They would later hand it off on a jet sweep, getting them a 1st down after a 4 yard gain. They would go back to the run game, but they would only go backwards 1 yard after a tackle for loss by linebacker Christian Anaya. They would carry out another passing play, but would only get 2 yards, making it 3rd and 9, where they would pass it once again, but would only get 5 yards, forcing them to punt, which would land at Carey’s 49 yard line, which is where they would start their drive. They would start the drive with a run by Mark Vera to get them up to the 43 yard line. They would give it back to Vera to get the 1st down, where Justin DiPietro would get a 5 yard carry. They would go to the air after that, passing it to Jayden Radow for a huge play to get them to the 19 yard line. They would hand it off after that, getting up to the 6 yard line. On 2nd and 5, they would give it to Justin DiPietro for a 3 yard gain, forcing a 3rd and 2. On 3rd down, quarterback Michael Agostino would take the ball himself and punch it in to the end zone, followed by an extra point by Michael Lombardi to give the Seahawks a 7-0 lead with 6:31 left in the 1st quarter. Will Cooper would kick it into the back of the end zone to give the Falcons a touchback at the 20 yard line. They would start their drive on the ground, which would only get them a yard to force a 2nd and 9. After that, they would go to the passing game, which would get them a first down at the 37 yard line. They would choose to go with another pass, giving them another first down at the 48 yard line. However, they would run it on 1st down, losing 4 yards off a tackle for loss by Matthew Lemite. They would return to the passing game and get a huge reception to bring them to Carey’s 23 yard line. They would run it after that, losing 2 yards with a tackle for loss by Justin DiPietro. On 2nd down they would pass the ball towards the end zone, but the ball would be knocked down by Dean Martucci, forcing 3rd and 12. On 3rd down they would go for a screen pass, gaining no yards. They would elect to go for it on 4th down, but they would commit a flag for false start, pushing them back 5 yards. They would still go for it, passing the ball on another screen, but they would be short of the 1st down marker, giving the Seahawks a 1st down on their 19 yard line. They would start the drive by handing the ball off to Dominick Peluso, but they would get pushed back a yard. They would hand it off again to Giancarlo Carbone, getting 2 yards. On 3rd and 9, they would pass the ball, but it would fall incomplete, forcing a 4th down. Carey would elect to punt it, which would land at the Falcons 27 yard line. They would start their 3rd drive of the day with a hand off, but they would get tackled back at the line. They would pass the ball on 2nd and 10, but they would be stopped after a 3 yard gain. On 3rd and 7, they would pass it over the middle for a 1st down at the 47 yard line, which is where they would be at the end of the 1st quarter.
To start the 2nd quarter, the Falcons would hand the hand the ball off for a 6 yard gain. The Falcons would pass the ball, but it would be dropped, forcing a 3rd down. In 3rd and 4 they would run the ball, but would lose a yard from another tackle for loss by Christian Anaya. They would go for it on 4th down, passing the ball, but Christian Anaya would get a sack, giving the Seahawks a 1st down at the Falcons 45 yard line. Quarterback Michael Agostino would the ball himself, but he would be met at the line of scrimmage. They would pass the ball on 2nd down, but it would be incomplete, forcing a 3rd and 10. On 3rd down, they would run a play action pass, where Michael Agostino would complete a pass while under pressure by a defender to Justin DiPietro for 15 yards at the 30 yard line. In 1st down, James McGrath would run the ball, but they would lose 3 yards, forcing a 2nd and 13. Michael Agostino would pass the ball over the middle to Tristan Hickis for a 1st down at the 14 yard line, where Justin DiPietro would run the ball in for a diving touchdown, followed by an extra point by Michael Lombardi to extend their lead to 14-0. On the kickoff, the Falcons would return the ball to the 30 yard line, which is where they would start their drive. They would run the ball on 1st down, getting 3 yards for a 2nd and 7, which is where they would pass the ball for a first down at the Seahawks’ 48 yard line. On first down, they would run the ball up to the 43 yard line for a 2nd and 5. They would pass the ball on 2nd down to get up to the 30 yard line for a 1st down, which is where they would run the ball. However, they would lose 5 yards on a tackle for loss by Charles Jaime. On 2nd and 15 they would run the ball again for 3 yards, giving them a 3rd and 12. They would pass the ball on 3rd down, which would be dropped by the receiver, however, Carey would commit a holding penalty, bringing the Falcons a 3rd and 3, where they would lose a yard off of a tackle for loss by Matthew Lemite, forcing a 4th and 4. They would go for it on 4th down, handing the ball off, but they wouldn’t get to the 1st down line, giving the ball to the Seahawks. However, on 1st down, Carey would commit a false start penalty, pushing them back to the 25 yard line for a 1st and 15. They would go for a passing play, but it would fall incomplete, bringing a 2nd and 15. They would go back to the air on 2nd down, where Michael Agostino would complete a pass to Jayden Radow for 11 yards, giving them a 3rd and 4. On 3rd down, Agostino would run the ball, but he would be tackled behind the line of scrimmage, forcing a 4th and 6. Michael Agostino would be forced to leave the game after the tackle. On 4th down, Carey would punt the ball, landing at Carey’s 37 yard line. On 1st down, they would pass the ball, giving them 6 yards for a 2nd and 4. They would go back to the air on 2nd and 4, but it would fall incomplete, forcing a 3rd and 4, where they would hand the ball off again, getting a 1st down at the 43 yard line. On 1st down, they would attempt to pass the ball, but Christian Anaya would quickly get to the quarterback for his 2nd sack of the day, pushing them back 10 yards for a 2nd and 20. They would run the ball on 2nd down, but they would get tackled behind the line by multiple Carey defenders, pushing them back to a 3rd and 27, where they would run the ball again, gaining 4 yards for a 4th and 23. On 4th down, they would punt the ball, which would land at Carey’s 36 yard line, which is where Carey would start their drive. Tristan Hickis would come into the game, replacing Michael Agostino, but he would kneel the ball, running out the clock and bringing the game into halftime.
To start off the 2nd half, the Falcons would kickoff the ball, which would land at the 27 yard line. However, Carey would commit a false start penalty, moving them back 5 yards. On 1st and 15, it would be a low snap, and Tristan Hickis would have no choice but to jump on the football, putting them on the 18 yard line. But Justin DiPietro would take a handoff up the middle to the 43 yard line for a huge 25 yard run, which would be followed by another huge 57 yard run up the middle into the end zone by DiPietro, followed by an extra point by Michael Lombardi to give them a 21-0 lead. Carey’s kickoff would be returned to the 17 yard line, which is where the Falcons would start their drive. On 1st down, the Falcons would commit a false start penalty, moving them back 5 yards. They would pass the ball on a screen, but they would commit another penalty, moving them back another 5 yards for a 1st and 20. They would run the ball, up the 25 dor a 2nd and 3, where they would run it again for a 1st down at the 28. On 1st down, they would commit another false start penalty for a 1st and 15. They would attempt to run it with the quarterback, but he would be met by 2 Carey defenders at the line of scrimmage. On 2nd and 15, they would pass the ball to get a 1st down on the 42 yard line. On 1st down they would go for a screen pass to move up 5 yards for a 2nd and 5, where they would hand the ball off to get another 1st down. They would run it with the quarterback on 1st down, getting another 5 yards at the 41 yard line for a 2nd and 5. They would run the ball again on 2nd and 5, but they would lose 4 yards on a tackle for loss by Matthew Lemite. On 3rd and 9 they would run the ball on a jet sweep to get to the 34 for a 1st down, but it would be brought back after a holding by the Falcons to force a 3rd and 14 at midfield. They would complete a pass up the middle to get a 1st down at the 35 yard line. On 1st down they would hand the ball off, but they would be met at the line of scrimmage by multiple Carey defenders. On 2nd and 10 they would run it with their quarterback again, but he would be met at the line again by Justin DiPietro. However, Carey would commit a holding penalty, moving them up to the 25 yard line for a 1st down. On 1st down they would attempt to pass it towards the end zone, but Will Cooper would knock the ball away for an amazing defensive play to force a 2nd and 10. On 2nd down they would run the ball, but multiple Carey defenders would tackle the runner behind the line for a 1 yard loss. Carey would commit an offsides penalty to give the Falcons a 3rd and 4 at the 18 yard line. They would attempt a pass, which would fall incomplete, but Carey would commit pass interference penalty to put the Falcons at the 11 yard line. On 1st and 10, the Falcons would run the ball back to the line of scrimmage for a 2nd and 10. On 2nd down, they would run the ball again, however, they would fumble the ball, which would be recovered by Theodoros Andrikopoulos to put Carey at the 11 yard line. They would hand the ball off to Justin DiPietro for a 6 yard gain for a 2nd and 4 at the 18 yard line, which is where the Seahawks would be at the end of the 3rd quarter.
The Seahawks would start the 4th quarter with the ball on the 18 yard line with a 2nd and 3, where they would hand it off to Justin DiPietro, who would take it to the end zone for an 82 yard rushing touchdown, followed by an extra point by Michael Lombardi to extend their lead to 28-0. Will Cooper would kick the ball off into the end zone for a touchback, putting the Falcons at the 20 yard line. On 1st and 10, the Falcons would pass the ball, but it would be intercepted by James McGrath and brought down to the 10 yard line to put the Seahawks in the red zone. On 1st down, they would hand the ball off to McGrath, but he would be tackled at the 9 yard line for a 2nd and 9. However, the Falcons would commit a facemask penalty,
putting them at the 4 yard line. On 2nd down, they would hand the ball off, but they would get back to the line of scrimmage. On 3rd and 4, Tristan Hickis would complete a pass to Jayden Radow, followed by an extra point by Michael Lombardi to give them a 35-0 lead. Will Cooper would kick the ball off into the end zone again to put the Falcons at the 20 yard line. On 1st down, they would run the ball again, putting them at the 22 yard line for a 2nd and 8, where they would hand the ball off again, bringing them to the 26 yard line for a 3rd and 4. On 3rd down, they would run the ball with the quarterback, getting the first down at the 31. On 1st down, they would run the ball again, but they would get pushed back 2 yards by Lucas Ernhardt. On 2nd and 12, they would run it again, getting into the 42 yard line for a 3rd and 4, where they would rush with the quarterback again, getting the 1st down. They would hand the ball off yet again on 1st down, only getting 4 up to the 46 yard line. On 2nd and 6 they would keep it on the ground, but they would get only get up a yard for a 3rd and 5. They would decide to keep it with the run game again on 3rd down, getting a 1st down at the 42 yard line. On 1st down, they would run it, but they would fumble the ball, but it would be recovered by the Falcons for a 2nd and 10. They would keep running it on 2nd down, getting up to the 31 for a 1st down, where they would also run it for 2 yards for a 2nd and 8. They would keep it on the ground on 2nd down, but they wouldn’t move up, getting a 3rd and 8. They would decide to run out the clock, starting off Carey’s season with a win.
