H. Frank Carey High School launched its spirited homecoming festivities on Sept. 13 with a lively parade that stepped off at 11 a.m., marking the beginning of a day filled with pride, energy, and tradition.
Leading the way down Caroline Avenue, the Franklin Square Fire Department and Nassau County Police set the tone for the celebration. The school’s marching band, cheerleaders, Pirettes, and members of the homecoming court followed close behind, all smiles as they greeted the cheering crowd. This year’s Grand Marshal was beloved science teacher Dr. Karine McGuiness, who waved from a Jeep decked out in orange and black balloons.
The parade concluded with the crowning of Homecoming King Michael Agostino and Queen Casey Govaert, as classmates and families cheered them on. Their coronation added an extra layer of excitement to the day’s festivities, honoring their leadership and school spirit.
That afternoon, the Seahawks football team took the field against Valley Stream South Senior High School. Fueled by the roaring crowd, Carey dominated from start to finish, securing an impressive 35-0 shutout victory. At halftime, spectators enjoyed dazzling performances from the marching band, Pirettes, and varsity cheerleaders, keeping the energy high both on and off the field.
The 2025 homecoming proved to be a memorable celebration that united students, staff, alumni, and families in a shared display of Carey pride. From the parade to the crowning of royalty to the victory on the field, the day showcased the strength of tradition and community spirit at H. Frank Carey High School.
