On Friday October 10th 2025, H. Frank Carey hosted their annual Pink Out Game. Every year, this game highlights breast cancer awareness. This year H. Frank Carey’s Varsity Football hosted the Elmont Spartans.
As per usual everyone was blown away by such an amazing half time performance from H. Frank Carey’s Marching Band, Color Guard and Pirettes. This time around the marching band performed Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley, I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston, and Don’t Stop Believen’ by Journey accompanied by a beautifully choreographed performance by H. Frank Carey’s Pirettes.
Everyone wore pink attire to the game and to school earlier that day as pink is used to spread awareness for breast cancer. It is a way to show support for those who are fighting breast cancer. Pink primarily is worn throughout the month of October as it is known as Breast Cancer Awareness month. A huge thank you to everyone who came to the game and came to support! It was such a wonderful game and definitely one of our favorite games that we have here at H. Frank Carey every year.
To start the game, Carey defended against the Elmont Spartans, beginning their drive on the 31 yard line. Elmont would be able to get a first down, but Kelvin Persaud ended up sacking the Spartans quarterback, forcing Elmont to punt, landing at the 11 yard line. But Carey wouldn’t reach the first down marker, giving the ball back to Elmont on a punt to start their drive at the 40 yard line. Elmont would be able to get a first down, but sacks by Kelvin Persaud and Ayden Baez, followed by a false start by Elmont forced the Spartans to punt. The Seahawks would get the ball at the 42 yard line, reaching the first down marker twice and ending the drive with a rushing touchdown by Joncarlo Carbone, followed by a 2 point conversion off of a run by Justin DiPietro to jump out to an early 8-0 lead. On the kickoff, Carey would kick it into the back of the end zone for a touchback to put Elmont at the 20 yard line, failing to convert a first down on their drive, setting up Carey at Elmont’s 45 yard line to end the quarter.
On their first drive of the 2nd quarter, Carey would get 3 first downs, ending the drive with a 1 yard quarterback sneak by Tristan Hickis for a touchdown, followed by an extra point by Michael Lombardi to extend their lead to 15-0. On the kickoff, Elmont returned the ball up to the 23 yard line. The Spartans only gained a yard on their drive, forcing them to punt again, putting Carey at the 47 yard line. Thanks to an offsides penalty and a bunch of solid runs, Carey would reach the first down marker 3 times and end the drive with a rushing touchdown by Justin DiPietro and an extra point by Michael Lombardi to put Carey up 22-0. On Elmont’s next drive, they were able get three first downs, but Carey stopped them from reaching the end zone before time ran out, going into halftime with a 22-0 lead.
Carey started the 2nd half with the ball on the 39 yard line, getting 3 first downs and ending the drive with a 21 yard touchdown pass from Tristan Hickis to Jayden Radow, followed by an extra point to increase their lead to 29-0. But a good return by Elmont would put them on the 44 yard line. They would end up getting a first down and a touchdown to cut the deficit to 29-6. On their next drive, Carey ended up getting a first down and ending the 3rd quarter on the 45 yard line.
To start the 4th quarter, the Seahawks reached the first down marker twice, but the Spartans forced the ball away on a turnover on downs, giving Elmont the ball at the 4 yard line. They would get 3 first downs and put up a long drive, not getting any points before the end of the game, sending Carey home with a 29-6 victory.
