There’s Snow Time Like the Present: 5 Fun Activities for the Winter Break
Hot chocolate, festive carols, warm fireplaces—the winter season is upon us. Which means so is the (much needed) winter break. Two full weeks of break can get boring. Here’s some of Clipper’s suggestions if you’re bored.
1) Take a nap: During an average school week, you probably don’t get to sleep in as much as you wish you could. Break is the perfect time to relax and take a long nap. Sweet dreams!
2) Go Ice Skating: A favorite of many over the cold season, invite a friend or family member to an ice skating rink. Though beware, ice skating isn’t as easy as the professionals make it seem. Test your skill, but be prepared for a few falls as well!
3) Read a New Book: You don’t have to be in English class to read a book, it’s always been one of my personal favorite tactics to pass time. For a start—you’re already reading this article! You can check out ebooks on an online library or go to your local library and check something out.
4) Bake a Winter Treat: Baking is a sweet (literally) activity. It’s time consuming when you’re bored and gratifying when you get the taste of success. Just be careful when using the oven or other kitchen appliances.
5) Watch a Movie: If reading isn’t your thing, you can immerse yourself into a new or classic movie. The choices are endless, with plots that cater to anybody’s taste! At this time of year, family style and holiday movies are the most watched. Go to a theater or watch at home, either would be guaranteed fun.
