On February 13th, H. Frank Carey celebrated their annual P.S I Love You Day. Every year the Seahawks all wear their spirit with the color purple! Purple is worn to symbolize a commitment to mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and fostering a kinder, more inclusive community. It not only shows awareness of these topics but also spreads a sense of unity, showing people that they are not alone. PS I Love You Day is such a special day for the Seahawks.
Every year H. Frank Carey transforms the hallways with signs, artistic representations, and decked-out doors all connecting back to the message. P.S I love you conveys a message to all that we are here for one another and that we are a community. Together H. Frank Carey emphasizes the message of togetherness and support. Students wrote letters to peers, sharing a bond and making another person’s day with writing filled with care, and kindness.
During the lunch periods, students had the opportunity to sit at tables with others and create bracelets together. So many people came together and made long-lasting memories and crafted fun jewelry as well. Of course it’s not P.S I Love You Day without our favorite: The purple bagels and one of H. Frank Carey’s biggest bake sales. Sweet treats from brownies to cookies and everything in between.
Thank you to everybody who showed their support not just on Friday but throughout the whole week! P.S I Love You Day spirit was through the roof! With students and staff dressing for each day: Monday was “Let’s Shine Together” showing spirit in Carey gear! Tuesday was Glow Day. Everybody was in bright colors and brought bright moods! Wednesday was “Black Out Day”. To be the light in somebody’s dark! Students were handed glow sticks to wear around their necks! Thursday is a fan favorite “Pajama Day!” And last but not least Friday: P.S I Love You Day! The Seahawks were all decked out in their purple attire!
