The weather is finally warm again and spring sports are just getting started. Carey lacrosse is hungry to win after an unfortunate loss in the playoffs last year and oh boy are they winning so far. In their first game they beat Long Beach 9-8 in their first game, in their second they beat friends academy by a killer score of 15-4, in their third game they unfortunately took a loss to Oceanside by a score of 10-5, then they went on to absolutely destroy new Hyde park 14-0 but unfortunately lost their last game to JFK 10-9. As for the players kids like James McGrath, Jaden radow, Vince vicari, and Ethan peltzer are all lighting it up in goals and assists this season so far. After these games coach Aiello had this to say about his team. “Things are gonna get a little harder to get better because we have to improve as a team, things are good when you win but the schedule is tough and the defense is a little inexperienced, we have good athletes and good character on defense so i believe in them.” Coach Aiello has very high praise for his goalie Steve Martinez who coach stated is “playing super well”. Catch the Seahawks in their next game against RIHS which is a non league game against a school from Connecticut.
