Creativity was on full display in Ms. Robertson’s 7th grade writing workshop as students proudly celebrated the release of their very own book. After weeks of hard work, imagination, and collaboration, the class hosted a special book release party to showcase their accomplishment.
The students’ book, How Freddie and Fishy Became Friends, tells the story of an unlikely duo—a gingerbread character and an octopus—who go on a long but fun journey that ultimately leads to friendship. The story highlights not only their creativity but also their ability to think outside the box and craft something truly unique.
When asked about their experience, many students shared that their favorite parts of the project were being creative and coming up with fun, interesting ideas. They also enjoyed matching images to the words they wrote, bringing their story to life in a visual way.
This project went far beyond just writing. Students worked together to design and produce the final book, which included laminated pages, multiple copies, and even a finished spine. The level of effort and attention to detail made the final product feel like a real, published book.
Seeing the students’ pride and excitement at the release party was inspiring. Their hard work, teamwork, and imagination truly paid off. Ms. Robertson’s class should be incredibly proud of what they accomplished—a creative project that turned into something lasting and meaningful.
