H. Frank Carey recently hosted its annual Career Fair, a full day event organized by members of the National Honor Society. The fair gave students a valuable opportunity to explore a wide range of future career options in an engaging and informative setting.
Junior high students were invited to attend and learn about approximately 150 different careers that could potentially spark their interests. From teaching and computer engineering to even professional dancing, the event showcased an impressive variety of paths students can take in the future.
One of the highlights of the fair was the effort put in by the National Honor Society students, who created detailed and visually appealing brochures for each career. These brochures helped provide insight into job responsibilities, required education, and potential career paths, making it easier for students to understand their options.
Attending the Career Fair can be especially beneficial for students, as it allows them to begin thinking about their future before entering high school. Having an idea of a possible career interest early on can help guide decisions about classes, extracurricular activities, and long term goals.
Overall, the Career fair was both educational and enjoyable, offering students a fun and meaningful way to start thinking about their futures while bringing the school community together.
This year H. Frank Carey hosted their fifth annual College Fair! This year’s fair held over 120 colleges for seventh graders to come and observe. During this immersive experience, junior high students get to come and explore the expo, learn about all different types of college and ask interesting questions about what truly makes colleges appealing to them!
Each of the colleges that were shown were represented by one of the many proud volunteering National Honor Society Students. As one of the representatives myself, we made it our goal to do research on these colleges and have answers to any questions the students may ask! Not only that but many of the representatives were able to contact their colleges and H. Frank Carey was able to receive lots of fun merchandise as well!
We thank all those who participated in the fair; volunteers, students, and colleges. For playing an active role in planning for the future and for helping those to navigate their path!
We made it a goal to inform the students about the importance of college and the different things everyone should know before entering college! We were able to help navigate the students to different directions on how they want to prepare for the future! Being able to plan now will only facilitate the future!
Once again the fairs were major successes and we couldn’t have been more excited for the next one!
