As the holiday season swings around, houses are becoming adorned in decoration. This time of year is characterized by glittering lawns, strung with festive lights all around. However, artificial trees and plastic lights can end up causing more harm than good. Switching to eco-friendly holiday decorations now can save the environment in the future.
Festive Lights
According to the Clean Air Partnership, “LED lights… use up 95% less electricity than traditional lights”. Traditional lights are known for wasting electricity, and implementing LED lights would effectively stop that. LED lights can be bought at most hardware stores, and are a wonderful alternative to regular lights. They still shine just as bright, while helping the environment!

Christmas Trees
Many share the universal experience of putting up a tree at home during the winter season. A Christmas tree represents the everlasting nature of love, light and tradition. However, artificial trees harm the atmosphere instead of spreading cheer. A good way to save trees is by getting a second-hand one, or borrowing from a friend who no longer uses theirs. This way, there’s no need to put new chemicals into the air.
